The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday arrested two head constables of the Delhi Police in two separate cases of bribery, officers mentioned.
In one of many cases, Head Constable Ajeet Sharma, posted at Delhi’s Connaught Place Police Station, was arrested together with two different individuals — Rakesh Gupta and Lala.
Sharma was additionally suspended and a departmental enquiry has been ordered by the Delhi Police.
“A case was registered primarily based on a grievance alleging that the accused demanded a bribe from the complainant to run his store by the facet of the highway in Connaught Place, New Delhi. Ajeet Sharma and the opposite two accused had been produced earlier than a Delhi courtroom and despatched to judicial custody.
In one other case, the CBI arrested Head Constable Sanjiv Kumar, posted at Police Station Bhajanpura in Delhi, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 from the complainant.
Based on the grievance, Sanjiv Kumar had demanded a bribe from the complainant for promising favour to him in a case of theft registered in opposition to him with the Bhajanpura Police Station.
Sanjiv Kumar was produced earlier than the CBI courtroom in Delhi and he has been remanded to judicial custody.
