The primary consignment of 2.40 lakh vials of Covid-19 vaccine for Assam and Meghalaya landed on the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi Worldwide (LGBI) Airport right here on Tuesday, an official mentioned.
A freighter ferried 20 giant containers, weighing over 730 kg and containing 2,40,000 vaccine doses, from Pune to Guwahati by way of Kolkata, Airports Authority of India North East Area’s Govt Director M Suresh mentioned.
Out of the 20 containers, 17 are for Assam and three for Meghalaya. Every field has 12,000 doses of vaccine.
The containers have been handed over to the representatives of the well being division of each the state governments throughout the stipulated 9 minutes of arrival, Suresh mentioned.
